On February 2, 2017 Governor Carney signed SB 13 into law which rewrote Delaware’s Abandoned or Unclaimed Property statutes. Details on eligibility can be found in the section entitles “Convert to a VDA”).

Please see email from Secretary Bullock dated April 7, 2017 which provides guidance to Advocates and Holders in response to the new legislation.

In response to SB 13, the Department of Finance and the Department of State have promulgated draft regulations concerning each department’s unclaimed property programs. Comments to the draft regulations are due by May 3rd.
